Building QwikTik: Rethinking Appointment Scheduling

If you’ve ever tried to book an appointment with a salon, clinic, or consultant, you’ve probably experienced the frustration: phone calls that go unanswered, back-and-forth WhatsApp messages to find a suitable time, or clunky booking forms that don’t show real availability.

We’re building QwikTik to solve this—for both service professionals and their clients.

The Problem Space

Service professionals—whether they’re running a salon, a dental clinic, a tutoring service, or a consulting practice—share common booking challenges:

Scheduling chaos: Managing appointments across phone calls, messages, and walk-ins leads to double bookings and missed appointments.

No-shows: When clients don’t show up, it’s lost revenue. Reminders help, but sending them manually is time-consuming.

Scattered information: Client history, preferences, and contact details end up in various places—paper notebooks, phone contacts, WhatsApp chats.

Limited visibility: Understanding business patterns—peak hours, popular services, client retention—requires data that’s rarely collected systematically.

Our Approach

QwikTik is designed around three principles:

1. Simplicity for the Professional

The dashboard focuses on what matters: today’s appointments, upcoming bookings, and quick actions. We’re not building a feature-heavy platform that requires training to use. Setup should take minutes, not hours.

2. Frictionless Booking for Clients

Clients get a simple booking page (think: qwiktik.io/yourname) where they can see available slots and book instantly. No app to download, no account required. Confirmations and reminders via SMS and WhatsApp.

3. Smart Automation

Behind the simple interface, QwikTik handles:

  • Automatic reminders (customizable timing and channels)
  • Buffer time between appointments
  • Different appointment types with different durations
  • Business hours and holiday management
  • Cancellation and rescheduling rules

Technical Stack

We’re building QwikTik with:

  • Angular for the web dashboard
  • Ionic for native mobile apps (iOS and Android)
  • Node.js backend with PostgreSQL
  • Twilio/WhatsApp Business for notifications

The mobile-first approach is crucial—most service professionals manage their businesses from their phones.

Current Status

QwikTik is in active development. Core features are working:

  • Calendar management
  • Client booking portal
  • SMS/WhatsApp notifications
  • Basic analytics

We’re currently in beta testing with select users. If you’re a service professional interested in trying QwikTik, reach out at contact@litcode.io—we’re looking for feedback.

Public launch is planned for Q1 2025. Follow us for updates, or check qwiktik.io for the latest.
